SUMMARY:DARPL Enhanced Leadership Series (ELS) for the Childcare\, Play and the Early Years Sector (Face to Face)
DESCRIPTION:There are five sessions in this series (three in person and two online) from February – April 2025*. Participants need to commit to attending the whole series and providing a reflective summary on completion. \nBefore attending the series\, there is a pre-requisite that DARPL ELS participants have accessed the introductory DARPL CPEY Senior Leaders Series (either in-person or via online materials). \nHere’s the link to the online resources: Childcare\, Play and Early Years – DARPL \nDARPL Enhanced Leadership Series Aims \nThe ELS aims are to provide the CPEY cohort of leaders and practitioners with the opportunity to: \n\nRecognise the value and importance of anti-racist professional learning as a continuum across early years\, childcare and playwork.\nEnable an appreciation of new ways of working for sustainable active critical change through anti-racist professional leadership.\nShare peer to peer experiences through dialogue for community of practice development.\nEnable leaders to develop/contribute to strategic plans aligned with Prof. Charlotte Williams’ Report Recommendations and Welsh Government Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan (ARWAP).\nUse and co-construct tools and resources to critically appraise and inform their own organisational culture.\nExplore and develop racial literacy.\n\nDARPL ELS Professional Learning Outcomes \nOn successful completion of the DARPL Enhanced Leadership Series\, the CPEY cohort will be equipped to: \n\nRecognise anti-racist leadership and professional practice.\nRaise awareness through extended authentic self-reflection including explorations of whiteness\, power dynamics in leadership and professional practice.\nDefine (within their own professional context) key practices of anti-racist leadership and race equity.\nLead / engender safe and brave spaces within their organisations/professional practice through policy and practice reform.\nCreate materials\, policies\, and resources to support anti-racist professional practice and wellbeing.\nImplement professional learning through in the context of their own work.\nInvestigate the challenges/barriers that exist for leaders when shifting from generic inclusive practice to anti-racist whole organisational culture.\nDevelop critical thinking on race equity in practice.\n\nTo book your place click here\, https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1140396349179/ \nBy registering for this course\, you will be providing us with personal information in order for us to process your booking and arrange the course.
