DARPL hosted the Enhanced Leadership Series Day 1 for Cohort 5 at Cardiff Met

On 23rd September 2025, DARPL Wales Founder and Director Chantelle Haughton inaugurated and welcomed the fifth cohort of DARPL’s flagship leadership training programme, ‘Enhanced Leadership Series (ELS) ’, over 50 leaders from South Wales, held in person at Conference Room 2 & 3, Cyncoed Campus, Cardiff Metropolitan University, CF23 6XD.

Our valued partners, Rachel Clarke (Apex Educate), along with Dean Pymble and Kate Powell (Show Racism the Red Card), facilitated the Day 1 sessions. Our colleague, National Outreach Teacher Leon Andrews provided an overview of the pre-course survey and housekeeping, while our new ELS Co-ordinator Fardous Chowdhury, MSc, B.Sc, PRINCE 2, CSM, CSCS MAP supported the day-long session and attendees throughout the day.

This programme focuses on:

1. Developing anti-racist leadership
2. Deepening self-reflection
3. Building brave spaces
4. Dismantling barriers to change

ELS is delivered through a blend of online and in-person sessions across Wales:

♦ South Wales cohorts – delivered in Swansea and Cardiff

♦ North Wales cohorts – delivered in Bangor
(Still a few places left for Cohort 5 starting on 12th November 2025, email us darpl@cardiffmet.ac.uk to sign up).

We are proud to share that ELS is officially re-endorsed by the National Academy for Educational Leadership (NAEL) Cymru.
