Anti-racism is a crucial process that involves identifying and opposing racism in all its forms. The ultimate goal of anti-racism is to challenge and eradicate racist policies, behaviours, and beliefs that perpetuate discrimination and inequality. By actively engaging in anti-racism, we can create a more just and equitable for all.

Apex Educate is a forward thinking consultancy that inspires and achieves success in educational settings and beyond. We can provide a range of support packages to develop and strengthen schools and non-educational organisations to support them on their own anti-racist journey.

The Black Curriculum

The Black Curriculum is a social enterprise that aims to deliver black British history all across the UK. We work with schools, educational authorities and exam boards to develop a broader curriculum as well as free and licensable resources for schools to teach students about Black history. We also run a variety of virtual and in-person programmes for schools, young people and corporations to promote the importance of Black history.

Our aim is to prepare students to become fully rounded citizens, ready for an increasingly globalised world. Our curriculum is grounded in the arts to allow young people to engage with history imaginatively, encouraging student satisfaction and critical thinking skills. Through our holistic approach, we aim to remedy a wider systemic issue.

Cwlwm

We are passionate about giving every child the opportunity to play, learn and grow through the Welsh language. We believe that children benefit from speaking many languages. Wherever there are young children in Wales, Cwlwm (and therefore the Welsh language) should also be present.

We believe in giving children the best start knowing that our work in early education, childcare and play greatly influences a child for the rest of their life.

We are a registered charity and are recognised as the leading provider and facilitator of Welsh-medium early-years childcare and education.

Our consultants have lived experiences of racism and considerable experience in supporting the education work around anti-racism.

Urban circle

Urban Circle Newport (UCN); a forward-thinking and well-established youth development charity helping to build, promote and sustain constructive community relationships and individual engagement with young people using a variety of creative platforms. We provide opportunities for young people to pursue their interests, improve their wellbeing and realise their potential across the creative arts, education, youth work and community development activity. UCN is one of the few organisations representing young black and Asian people in the Newport area and embraces a key responsibility to facilitate the process of speaking out and challenging injustice in whatever shape or form it appears. UCN’s work in this field has enabled us to form solid relationships within disadvantaged local communities where we employ participative consultation tools and needs-based assessment research to get to the heart of any discriminatory practices or actions. We devise and produce multi-arts events, gigs, festivals, films and educational events that celebrate our cultural heritage and bring large, diverse audiences together from across Newport and beyond.
