Official launch event of Islamophobia Awareness Month
DARPL partner Show Racism the Red Card is excited about the official launch event of Islamophobia Awareness Month (Islamophobia Awareness Month [IAM]), dedicated to raising awareness about the impact of Islamophobia and showcasing the positive contributions of Muslim people in the UK.
The theme this year is #seedsofchange – a powerful action highlighting how small efforts can lead to a significant impact in the fight to tackle Islamophobia.
This event will bring together community leaders, activists, and allies to share experiences, strategies, and insights on combating Islamophobia. Through powerful discussions, keynote speeches, and collaborative activities, we aim to inspire action and promote unity.
In a climate where Islamophobia and far-right sentiments continue to rise, this year’s theme emphasises that every action, no matter how small, can contribute to lasting change. Whether it’s starting a conversation, participating in educational programs, or simply showing support for the campaign online, IAM encourages everyone to take part in standing up against Islamophobia and cultivating a more inclusive society. The Home Office’s latest report into hate crimes in England and Wales found that Muslims were still the most disproportionately affected religious group by religiously motivated hate crimes.
