Welcome to our DARPL Anti-racist teaching materials. These consist of power points and teacher notes on a variety of ‘Welsh based’ people of colour from history and up to the present day.
These materials are about ‘The Battle for Swansea’, which tells us about the events around Wales’s connection to Nelson Mandela.
- Please use these slides alongside the teacher notes. The teacher notes are ‘generic’ i.e. they are not designed with the age of the learner in mind, they are meant to be a guide, for your own adaption / use. Teachers should work with learners in exploring the materials and adapt them according to needs / age of learner etc.
- Slide and teacher notes are designed to stimulate conversations and further research. They give a basis from which to work / investigate more fully.
